OpenAI says GPT-6.1 Sol delivers near-Astra intelligence for coding, computer use and professional work at one-fifth of GPT-6 Astra's standard API prices. Its DevDay recap lists more than 20 announcements across ChatGPT, Codex, APIs, security and builder tools, including "dots": proactive assistants that keep working across projects. TechCrunch also reports a new suite of office features that puts OpenAI in more direct competition with traditional software companies.
For the 806: Most of this is OpenAI describing its own products, and we haven't tested any of it. The price claim is the concrete part: if it holds, near-top-model quality for a fifth of the cost. Dots are the part to read twice. OpenAI says you stay in control, while TechCrunch describes them as working toward your goals in the background with minimal oversight. Before you let one send anything out, ask who checks the work.
